Three Nashville mayoral candidates say they want a level playing field for women’s wages.
"I know that women in Nashville contribute just as much and many times work twice as hard as their male counterparts,” Bill Freeman said, mayoral candidate.
Metro Council member at large Megan Barry says she has a plan if she gets elected.
“One of the things we can do is to make sure when we have a pay plan for metro employees, that the pay plan is fair,” Barry said, mayoral candidate.
Megan Barry co-sponsored nondiscrimination legislation that created the Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance to give greater access for minority and women-owned businesses to public contracts.
